My car review this week is the new BMW 4Series. We will see it in 2012 but I have to say I’m not particularly inspired. I’m a lover of BMW’s but after losing the plot with the X6 they’ve now set their sights on a mini looking version based on the 3 Series. It’s a 5Dr Coupe which I thought might be an exciting proposition but it isn’t a patch on the Mercedes E Read more

It just goes to show how people differ in views when it comes to surveys. BMW was upset when they fared poorly in the 2010 Driver Power Survey, assessing the dealerships on many levels. BMW dropped from 12th to 17th only to be replaced by Mercedes at the number 12 spot. Now this I really can’t understand as my last car was a BMW and the dealer was superb. The car before and my current cars are both Mercedes and the service I receive from the Mercedes dealership is incredible. And Read more

Multi story car parks go 21st century in Birmingham. German creator, Wohr, has built a valet multi story car park, without a valet. Cars are driven in through one of four access points by residents and after activating the system with the use of a transponder fob, the car is taken away by the machinery and stored in bays spread over 3 floors, all automatically. When the driver retrieves his car it is returned on a dolly that even turns the car round to be driven straight out in about 2 minutes. UK MD Read more

Could sun roofs be on the way back? Since many entry level cars have been fitted with air conditioning, that quirky feature, pretty much a British thing, the sunroof, has been dropped from the spec. of many cars. But could we see its return following the launch of the new Mercedes SLK next year? The first car to have the folding steel roof will now be fitted with an amazing sunroof which has the ability to go dark or clear at the touch of a button. It’s called Magic Sky Control. The glass is Read more

This week Graham Hill’s in depth car review focuses on the all new Audi A7. As a broker I absolutely hate Audi because they have the longest lead time of all the manufacturers. This means that if I agree a deal with a client today I will probably have to wait till 2011 before I’m likely to see the money I’ve earned – it’s a bloody disaster! But as a car the new Audi A7 looks simply stunning, both inside and out! It is a 4Dr Read more

This week the Graham Hill in depth review is a dribble over the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing. It looks amazing! I could probably stop there as that’s probably all you need to know but for those that enjoy my in depth review here goes. It is a retro looking car but without seeming dated and is the current F1 safety car. With the doors open you think it looks as though it could fly if the driver took it up to 150 mph plus! Read more

Oh dear I’m not sure how this is going to go down with employees but it seems that there has been a bit of an upsurge in the provision of logos for company cars. In the past companies that run vans and trucks would use them as a mobile advertisements for their business but very few, other than estate agents and letting agents, adorn their cars with advertising logos. But just recently employees have been Read more

When Kelvin MacKenzie, the ex editor of the Sun newspaper, received an end of lease charge of £1,867.48 he was shocked and immediately tore into Mercedes Benz Finance through the columns of the Sun. In the same column he said, referring to the charge from the lender and following details of the charges, “as per the agreement (my fault I didn’t read it).” He didn’t read the agreement but he’s lambasting the lender Read more

Motor Codes, the body responsible for producing a National code of practice for servicing and repairs, have called for a single computer database containing every vehicle’s service record to be created to prevent crooks faking car service histories in order to inflate the car’s value. The call was made after it was found that it was possible to guy fake service books and ink stamps online on eBay. Auto Express Read more

Not only do the Americans have cheap lease rates they have some great incentives offered to buyers in order for them to choose their car over others. The latest gimmick is being offered by Hyundai. They are offering every buyer of their new V8 Equus luxury limo their service book loaded onto an Apple iPad. Customers can even use the iPad to book services or receive information updates. I didn’t get one of these Read more
