Here’s an interesting piece of information if you are a young driver or you know someone who is a young driver looking to reduce their ridiculous insurance costs. Auto Express found a way for young drivers to shave hundreds of pounds off their insurance cost by switching to a provider that takes the years of having a provisional licence into Read more »

Now here’s an interesting scenario. As I’ve widely reported over the last 18 months or so deliveries of new cars have become a nightmare. All too often the dealer has called and said that delivery has been delayed not just by a couple of weeks but in some cases months. In most cases we’ve been able to get around the problem by extending the current Read more »

I am often asked how the lease rates on some cars can be so low compared to the cost of the car? Take for example the deal we had last year on the VW Passat CC (their new 4 door coupe). If you had taken the car on a 2 year lease you would have paid the equivalent of 26 payments x £229.99 + VAT. That’s a total of £7,175 on a car that cost around Read more »

The Graham Hill Gadget of the Week is in fact a liquid. It’s that time of year when driving more than half a mile will make it virtually impossible to see out of the windscreen as a result of bugs being splattered on the windscreen, made worse of course by the fact that you know if you splash your windscreen with windscreen wash and pass the wipers over the Read more »

The Graham Hill Review of a new car is actually a car that I’ve never been a big fan of but I’m going to make mention simply because it’s a survivor and there are people that see them more as a way of life rather than a simple car. The Stig is known to chew one of these after lunch to remove small food particles from between his teeth but to us it’s known as Read more »

They carried out the test using a Renault Megane Sport Tourer 2.0l diesel. They covered a distance of 70 miles on the Longcross Proving Ground in Surrey. They used this 2 mile circuit as it allowed them to set Read more »

My gadget of the week isn’t really my gadget it’s a list of them courtesy of Auto Express. We are all looking at ways of saving fuel as it hits a new high every week so it was good of them to list out a few gadgets aimed at saving fuel and money. Top of their list is a portable sat-nav. It’s called the Vexia Econav (www.vexia.co.uk) and uses a car database to Read more »

In another Auto Express story a couple made an insurance claim after their car had been damaged in an accident whilst the car was unattended. As per the terms of the insurance they initially had to pay over £350 excess to get it back when the claim was finally sorted out. After 6 months the couple were still waiting to get their money back from Read more »

I am very Mr Angry of Sussex. You see I get very frustrated when it comes to poor customer service, not helped by the fact that I’m the UK’s leading authority when it comes to vehicle finance so when I see a so called expert or an authoritative car magazine or national newspaper giving so called advice which is flawed I get bloody furious. Take a Read more »
