Insurance rules are about to change as a result of proposed legislation that is going through the consultative stage. New legislation is to be introduced in 2011 regarding the eyesight of drivers. The legislation was passed in 2006 and is set to come into force by member countries in 2011. They suggest that better fuel management could reduce fuel cost, extend service intervals on some cars and reduce tyre wear.
