Fuel Prices Predicted To Rise

Sunday, 17. January 2010

RMI Petrol Retailers Association is predicting a rise in fuel of 10 pence per litre in 2010 as a result of the VAT increase and other tax increases that are already planned or likely to be introduced when a new Government is elected. Clearly using the green argument to beat drivers over the head and justify exceptional taxation increases will help them to recover the huge deficit brought about by investment strategies used to save jobs and businesses. Interestingly the Government chose to save the motor industry, it is now becoming apparent as to why they did it! Oh and this suggested increase ignores any increase in fuel costs that might be introduced by the oil companies. So you could see an increase of about 13 – 15 pence per litre. By Graham Hill
