Worst Place In The UK For Car Break Ins

Wednesday, 3. February 2010

Do you know the most likely place in Great Britain to leave your car parked and have it broken into? Nope, it’s not Liverpool, how rude of you to even think it. Nor is it London – surprisingly, the top five spots, according to Endsleigh insurance, who carried out the survey, are headed up by Hull, followed by, in order, Nottingham, Bradford, Manchester and Doncaster. The safest place is Swindon with the fewest reports of vehicle and/or content thefts. Having said that, the Government recently issued statistics showing crime down by 20% last year so not all bad unless you happen to live in Hull. The statistics produced by Endsleigh were the result of analysing 3 years of claims from tens of thousands of policy holders al over the UK. They also warned that January was a bad month as drivers leave their new gadgets on display just asking the thieves to smash a window and steal them whilst still quite new. Well thanks for the bloody warning, Endsleigh, as we’re now into February!  Maybe the thieves in Hull don’t have a calendar to hand eh! Good grief! By Graham Hill
