Where You Live Affects The Resale Value Of Your Car

Saturday, 6. September 2008

If you are the sort of person who still likes to own your car then at some stage you will need to sell it again but according to contract hire company Lex it depends where you live as to how much you will get for your old car. If you have gone green and now own a hybrid or electric car you will be better off in the South especially around London as a result of the affects of congestion charging. Conversely if you drive a gas guzzling 4×4 you will not get a very good price in the south but more likely to get a better price in the north of England. The changes in vehicle excise duty, due to come into force next year, will have an additional affect on the way that new and used cars are bought. So don’t let your heart rule your head and consider how easy it will be to sell the car in 2 or 3 years time. Better still lease it, you don’t have to worry about the resale of the car if you do.
