Wealthy Drivers That Refuse To Pay Parking Fines Revealed

Moving on to legitimate parking fines, it turns out that local authorities may follow the Westminster council lead and name and shame the worst culprits for not paying their fines. It seems that some of the worst culprits are the very wealthy and Westminster has taken the unprecedented step of announcing the worst offenders on it’s website. It would seem that many of those that refuse to pay the fines are Arab owners of these rather exotic cars. For example there is a Dubai registered Lamborghini Murcielago, reg. no. E477 that owes £2,000 on 18 tickets. A Rolls-Royce Phantom reg. 3HVB has nearly £2,000 unpaid against it. There are Bugatti Veyron’s on the list and a £1.2 million L’Edition Centenaire, reg. 444 owes for double parking outside Selfridges. In total the Council is owed nearly £4 million in unpaid parking fines on 36,000 tickets going back 3 years. I could be wrong but I thought that if you didn’t pay your parking fine it could be towed away and if unpaid after 90 days the car could be crushed! Beware you drivers of exotica.
