Top 10 Cars For Retaining Their Value

Saturday, 15. November 2008

Now for those few readers that have not listened to a word I’ve said about the benefits of leasing and still insist on owning your cars you may be interested in some more gems passed on by the valuation expert at HPI, Martin Keighley. He has looked at the cars that provide good value for money as well as hold their price well in the used car market and come up with a top ten list of cars for you to purchase that will provide best value for money and be easiest to sell when you next want to experience the huge fun of negotiating a sale or PX, personally I’d rather just give the car back! He points out that the winners will be those that are small and economical with low emissions. The winner is the Mini as it still has a bit of image appeal whilst being reasonably economical and holding its price well. He has included a few eco cars in the medium sized sector with nothing larger finding its way onto the list. Mr Keighley’s top ten are:

Mini

Citroen C1/Peugeot 107/Toyota Aygo

Fiat 500

Hyundai i10

Audi A3 Diesel Models

BMW 1 Series Efficient Dynamics

Ford Focus Diesel Models

VW Polo

VW Golf Bluemotion

Seat Leon 1.9 Ecomotive

Of course our list of best sellers bears absolutely no relationship to this list! By Graham Hill
