Maybe it’s a sign that I’m getting old, but when I was young you established male dominance by beating up other boys until you got to puberty then you started to beat up girls. It was all very normal but of course frowned upon these days. You then proved you were a man by smoking which led into drinking 27 pints of Courage ale and still remaining standing on a Saturday night. Again, if you are seen smoking you are considered rather stupid and downing 27 pints in one session is immature so what have us fellas got left to show dominance over each other and the fairer sex?
Our cars of course! You can do it with the car you drive. I recall at one time all of my stockbroker clients drove around the City of London in green Subaru Imprezzas doing 0-60 in the time it takes to cough.
But sadly those days also seem to have ended with the wide boys of the City stepping into Toyota Prius things these days. With this in mind why have Bentley announced the launch of a 650bhp Continental?
Who is it aimed at? When would you be able to get all those horses into full gallop? What a pointless waste of time! Would I have one? Don’t be daft, of course I would!!! By Graham Hill
