New Chrysler ‘Bentley’ Will Lose Fans

Sunday, 6. November 2011

A friend of mine, not known for dating the brightest sparks in the boxes of fireworks, changed his car for a Chrysler 300C a couple of years ago, you remember the car, a big old bus with the looks of a Bentley if you changed the grill for a Bentley style honeycomb jobey! As a result he has had much success with the ladies believing he is driving around in Read more »

New Bentley Super Sport

Sunday, 23. October 2011

Maybe it’s a sign that I’m getting old, but when I was young you established male dominance by beating up other boys until you got to puberty then you started to beat up girls. It was all very normal but of course frowned upon these days. You then proved you were a man by smoking which led into drinking 27 pints of Courage ale and still remaining Read more »

Recession? What recession. So far this week I’ve seen photos of the new Bugatti Galibier, said to crossover from concept car to production car as soon as late 2012, now a 4 door car set to hit the streets with a 1,000bhp engine, a £1 million price tag and impressive 8 exhaust tailpipes. This was followed by pictures of the proposed Bentley SUV off Read more »

Bentley Continental GT

My car review of the week looked promising, I saw the Bentley badge and thought great, something special. They may drop in value like me after a few large glasses of nectar but hey it’s one of my fave cars. It’s even got round head and fog lights but with the little Christmas fairy lights in them like Audis. Just what you want in a supercar and when I say that Read more »

One of the smaller changes to the benefit in kind tax rules following the budget was the removal of the upper limit when applied to company run prestige cars. In the past there was a limit placed on the list price used when calculating personal benefit in kind tax of £80,000. This has now been removed so taking a Bentley Flying Spur as an example with Read more »

What is going on? After recently reporting that Bentley’s had to be recalled because of problems with the flying B badges on the bonnet Rolls are at it and having to recall 6,705 Rollers from around the world as a result of a wider recall of BMW’s. The problem relates to the brakes fitted on all V8 and V12 models which includes Rolls Royce Phantom models. Other cars affected are BMW 5, 6 and 7 Series. The problem is a possible leak in the power braking system – nice! It reduces the amount of Read more »

I recently reported that a large number of recalls don’t get the level of publicity that they should after Toyota took a beating over the brake recalls but were then found not to hold the record for the most numbers of single model cars being recalled this year. However it was put into perspective recently when Bentley had to recall 300 UK cars. The major concern affected Arnage, Azure and Brooklands models built Read more »

Auto Express has launched a campaign to force manufacturers to disclose known problems with their cars. At the moment the manufacturers only have to make public known safety faults that are subject to recall. For all other problems, such as reliability issues, these do not have to be made public. The AA, RAC and Retail Motor Industry Federation have all joined with Auto Express to put pressure on manufacturers to make public their technical service bulletins – the documents that detail the Read more »

Graham Hill Reviews New Bentley Continental GT

Bentley Continental GT

The Graham Hill in depth review of a new car has this week focused on the facelifted Bentley Continental GT. It looks nice, as you would expect and frankly I would describe the differences in the look of the car as ‘subtle’. I’m told that every panel of the car is new but the door mirrors are from the Musanne. Great! OK when you get up close you can see that there are changes but they have kept the overall look very Read more »

More motorists aspire to own one of these quintessential English cars that still conjure up times when we led the world with our beautifully designed executive cars.
