My review of a new car is going to be light of detail this week but I saw some pictures of the car in question and it looked a vast improvement on the old model. I’m talking about the Mercedes A Class that looked a bit too much like a small MPV and if you remember, when it was launched, if you drove it reasonably hard round a bend it fell over. The new version has got some style. It has the general design of a Golf but more stylish and I like it. It is due for launch in September and will be front wheel driven in diesel and petrol versions.
Watch out for the 7 speed dual clutch gearbox (hopefully it won’t suffer the Seat problem) and some of the smaller versions will be fitted with Renault power plants.
If Mercedes can offer us the same deals as we had on the old model A Class we should be leasing oodles of them! Keep an eye out, I can’t wait to put it out as deal of the week. By Graham Hill
