Graham Hill’s Gadget Of The Week

Saturday, 7. August 2010

This week’s gadget isn’t so much a gadget as a product. Many of us will remember the days when a bit of paint fade or minor paint scratches could be easily removed through the ample application of T Cut that happily removed one of the many layers of paint on your car, scratch and all, leaving behind a better car than you started with. But the change of paint structure (no more lead allowed) and the more liberal use of protective coating has meant that the old style T Cut could no longer do the job, although I have to say, I haven’t checked it lately so it may be more refined now. But a new product that is made for this sort of work has been the developed by Mer called Mer Scratch Remover and it will remove scratches fro the paint and even in the protective coating. You apply it with a cloth in straight lines, varying the direction, and the scratch will disappear, simple as that! The cost for a 150ml tube is £8.99 and can be bought from Mer on line, see www.merproducts.com Have you tried it? How did it go? By Graham Hill
