Graham Hill’s Famous Car Review Of New MG

Sunday, 22. May 2011

Time for a car review. As you know I normally remain pretty much unenthusiastic when it comes to some of the cars I write about, probably because the cars I notice are the daft cars, but having owned an MGB sports car at the age of 21, I still look at the badge with a degree of fondness as it invokes many happy memories – I said memories! So when I heard that the company had been bought by the Chinese a shiver went through me. Would I ever feel the same about the badge again or would I end up being physically sick each time I saw a bland metal box sporting the badge on the bonnet, forcing me to dispatch those fond memories to the back of my mind?

The answer is no, I actually like the design and the style of the new cars they’ve started to roll out. Whilst most are still in early design stages I can see the new brand becoming a big competitor.

Time will tell, they could still turn out to be shite cars, but for the moment at least my memories live on. By the way the number of new cars is up to six  by 2014 with the beloved TF sports car out in 2016. Let me know if you have similar memories of the MG brand? By Graham Hill
