Essential Gadget If Insured With Zurich

Thursday, 22. September 2011

Having recently had a run-in with Zurich over what should have been a very simple claim following an accident with my laptop, more of this in greater detail later as I might end up going to court with them, it would now seem that you are more than likely seen as guilty in an accident and end up having to prove your innocence. So it might be useful, if you have an iPhone, to download an app costing 69pence called Witness Driving, available from itunes.apple.com. This ‘gadget of the week’ captures your speed, position and G-forces as well as record video footage in the event you have a crash.

Data is recorded for up to an hour but rather than have to delete files the data is recorded on a loop so is automatically overwritten.

If you have a crash the app will switch to an accident management system. You are able to input information for use later as it is fresh in your mind, record witness information, keep notes and take photos.

You can even use iTunes to export data to for evidence later. A great idea and well worth the money in my opinion. By Graham Hill
