Don’t ignore your local car insurance broker when getting quotes

Wednesday, 17. December 2008

It has been predicted that insurance premiums are set to rise by around 10% next year with further rises expected over the following 2 years. You really need to look carefully at your requirements and ways to protect your no-claims bonus. With all the hype surrounding the comparison sites don’t write off your local broker, I saved £70 per annum by switching to a local broker who provided me with a great service after moving away from an insurer that I started to use 2 years ago after getting the best quote on the Internet. But don’t be tempted to counter the costs by increasing your excess to a level you couldn’t afford in the event of a major claim. And don’t under insure by omitting to mention that you use your car for business, giving a low value on the car or saying that the car is garaged when your garage is full of the residue of 3 house moves and you car is a permanent fixture on the road outside your house overnight.
