Culprits Jailed After 93 Staged Smashes
Tuesday, 24. August 2010
Two brothers have finally been jailed after being found guilty of staging 93 smashes at Eden Point in Stockport in Cheshire. Is it me or don’t you think that a couple of alerts should have sprung up somewhere after half a dozen similar incidents happened at the same spot? Ninety bloody three – what was going on? The brothers, Rehan and Rezwan Javed ran North West Claims Centre in Burnley. They paid crooks £500 to stage accidents that would lead to expensive personal accident claims. The crooked drivers would stage an accident after disconnecting the brake lights, stop suddenly in front of a vehicle then con the driver of the innocent car into believing that they were at fault. Following the accident the brothers’ dodgy claims outfit created bogus invoices for recovery, salvage and a courtesy vehicle. These invoices would be passed on by the innocent drivers to their insurance companies who then tended to pay out. Have you been involved in what you believed to be a staged accident? If you are suspicious make sure that you call the police, they are as anxious to catch these crooks as the insurance companies. One of these days someone in the innocent car will be seriously injured all for the sake of scamming the insurance companies. Have your say. By Graham Hill
