A Trading Standard team based in Birmingham have found that an incredible 90% of used tyres being sold by independent tyre dealers and fitted on cars don’t meet minimum legal standards. I’m grateful to Auto Express for the story about the driver in London Ontario who was clocked doing 66mph in a 31mph zone. There is pressure mounting to introduce a total ban on mobile phones whilst driving. Latest research shows that even drivers using a hands free phone took 20% longer to hit the brakes in an emergency when on the phone.
