Are Dealers Their Own Worst Enemy?

Sunday, 16. May 2010

There is something I feel guilty about as a broker and that is test drives. Customers need to test drive a car before they take them from me but we are unable, as we used to do years ago, to arrange for a car to be sent to the client from the manufacturer for him to test drive. So the client has to visit a dealer knowing that the car won’t be supplied by him, as we have volume arrangements with specific dealers or the Read more »

Another In Depth Car Review, This Week Bentley Mulsanne

Saturday, 15. May 2010

Yet another Graham Hill in depth review of a new car. Following the successful review of the new Ford Focus that many people found of great interest I have gone to the far end of the spectrum and this week chosen for my in depth review the new Bentley Mulsanne. Actually the review of the new Ford Focus was a little light on some of the fine detail so whilst the review of the Mulsanne was to be ‘It’s bloody expensive Read more »

Wednesday, 12. May 2010

Warnings have been issued regarding the screen resolution of your computer. Well not exactly the resolution itself but the affect that your screen resolution can have on the colour options shown on the manufacturer web sites. Customers, ordering new cars, have been choosing colours from the car manufacturer’s website only to be totally disappointed when the car has turned up looking several shades away from Read more »

Foreign Trucks Cause Huge Damage To British Roads

Thursday, 6. May 2010

You would no doubt have followed my reporting of the major pot hole problem that local authorities face following the harsh winter with no money to spend. But it wasn’t just the bad weather that led to the problems, it was the increase in Johnny Foreigner trucks covering 600 million miles on our roads last year. The problem, according to the Department for Transport, is that these trucks use our public roads but Read more »

I like to bring you hot news every week. You will recall my summary of the last budget. With notepad in hand I was watching Darling on TV but unfortunately I fell asleep leaving me nothing to report. So in that informative vein I’m announcing the launch of the all new Ford Focus – it looks like an Astra! By Graham Hill

Aston Martin Loses The Plot Totally

Aston Martin Cygnet
Image by David Villarreal Fernández via Flickr

Oh dear! I reported a few weeks ago that Aston Martin were soon to launch a new city car, the Cygnet, based on the Toyota IQ. The likely price when it will actually go on sale later this year is £30,000 for those dopey enough to want to spend this ridiculous amount of money for what is really a Toyota IQ with a few extra bits on, including the famous, and all important, badge on the bonnet. If all this wasn’t ridiculous Read more »

Fiat Increase Stake In Chrysler Are More Takeovers Planned?

Monday, 26. April 2010

We expect to see some changes in ownership of car manufacturers as we come out of recession, the latest of which is the increased ownership of Chrysler by Fiat. The deal will include Jeep and Dodge. Fiat took a 20% stake in ailing Chrysler last summer and have announced an increase in their stake to 35% if targets are met over the next 2 years. Chrysler registrations were down by 42.8% last year over 2008. Future Read more »

Graham Hill, Car Finance Expert, Provides Videos Showing The Benefits Of ESC

Friday, 23. April 2010

If you are a regular reader of my newsletter you will know that I go banging on about Electronic  Stability Control (ESC) also known as Electronic Stability Program (ESP). It saves lives and should be fitted as standard on all new cars already and yet only half of cars that are going to be used for business were sold last year with it fitted. By 2011 all new cars must be fitted with ESC and by 2014 every car must have Read more »

Graham Hill, Car Finance Expert, Reveals Truth About Older Drivers

Tuesday, 20. April 2010

The Institute of Advanced Motorists has carried out a poll which has brought older drivers under fire. When asked if they would report older motorists if they had concerns over their driving, 73% of those polled said they would whilst 68% backed compulsory re-testing at 70. Sounds to me like they only polled 18 year olds! The IAM maintained that younger drivers pose a much bigger danger than oldies, as borne Read more »
