Thursday, 19. May 2011

I reported recently on clocking, it would seem that others are reading my blogs as the Office of Fair Trading has issued a report that reveals there are more than 50 firms in the UK selling mileage correction (clocking) services. As a result they have called on the Government to act and close the loophole that enables these companies to quite legally reset a Read more »

Well, I guess the big news of the week, and one I was waiting to break before sending out my deal of the week and updated blog, is the launch of Tesco Cars www.tescocars.com. I have been working as a consultant with Carsite, whose site has been updated to accommodate the new name and Tesco loans. The same procedure is being adopted by the new website as happened under the old scheme with car photos, HPI and inspection reports. It seems that Transport Secretary, Philip Hammond supports the idea of lifting the speed limit as our limit is one of the slowest in Europe. However the anti car brigade are Read more »

I have to stay that statistic is absolutely meaningless because if it meat that the company was successful why has it just collapsed? It’s a bit like saying you could put any shop in the middle of a high street which attracts lots of ‘traffic’ Read more »

Online Used Car Reseller Autoquake In Administration

Thursday, 17. March 2011

Online used car reseller Autoquake have officially gone into administration. A call to their offices confirmed that MCR have been appointed as administrators following the collapse of the company. I believe that somewhere in the region of 150 jobs could be lost unless a buyer can be found although it was clearly a model that could never work. They appointed highly paid executives in roles that were far too small for their ability. As I have worked with Carsite, the originator of the online used car Read more »
