In 2008 there were 14 million sat navs in use in the UK, by now it is assumed that over half of all cars on the UK roads (30 million) now has a driver with a sat nav. According to psychologist Dr Victoria Bourne, writing in Fleet News, research shows that up to 78% of accidents are caused by distractions. Nissan ad execs must have been chuckling to themselves when they came up with the theme for their sports cars, the 370Z and the GT-R. They decided to take on the Germans, poking fun at their acceleration speeds, pointing out that the Z was faster than Audi, BMW and Porsche rivals. The posters read ‘Deutschland Deutschland Uber Rated’ while a blurred Read more »

There has been a lot of publicity recently about lime damage caused to BMW paintwork because of lime in the pooh, according to BMW. They go on to say that they will not pay for any re-sprays as a result of damage caused by bird’s mess as the damage is caused ‘as a result of outside influence’. Not good Read more »

Mercedes sold 214 S Read more »

We’ve all become addicted to sat navs and of course whilst the hand held units are far more practical, you can actually reach your destination, even on foot or in a bus, as long as the driver is prepared to follow your instructions from the 3rd row of the bus, it’s a snob thing to have a built in, factory fitted unit costing ten times as much. But if you decide to buy a used car and you’re impressed with the factory Read more »
