Saturday, 28. May 2011

Watch out, you’ve been caught, not on Candid Camera but on a parking camera. And if you’ve been caught on a camera mounted in a Smart car and fined, I may have some good new for you, thanks to Nigel Wise who contested a parking penalty issued following photo evidence taken by a camera mounted in a Smart car whilst parked in Powder Mill Lane Read more »

Diesel Has Continued To Increase At The Pumps When It Should Be Dropping

Friday, 27. May 2011

Rip off Britain is still alive and well and currently living in the diesel fuel pumps! According to latest figures Britain now has the highest priced diesel in Europe even though the actual cost of the diesel before taxes is the lowest. In January the cost of diesel was 51.1 pence per litre (ppl), according to the National Statistics Office. In February it rose slightly Read more »

Graham Hill Not Inspired By New BMW

Thursday, 26. May 2011

My car review this week is the new BMW 4Series. We will see it in 2012 but I have to say I’m not particularly inspired. I’m a lover of BMW’s but after losing the plot with the X6 they’ve now set their sights on a mini looking version based on the 3 Series. It’s a 5Dr Coupe which I thought might be an exciting proposition but it isn’t a patch on the Mercedes E Read more »

My gadget of the week is in fact an additive of the week. With fuel costs increasing daily (well it seems that way) a few additives have entered the market claiming to improve your car’s performance, improve fuel consumption and reduce CO2 output. One of these is called Mergi and is described by the manufacturer as ‘Magic in a bottle and helps you get Read more »

This blog is now number one on Google search out of 103 million worldwide. This makes me the one that so called experts seek advice from. Dealers and F&I managers use this blog to answer questions from customers and the press come to me for comments whilst the press take the RSS Feed . It all adds to the feeling by many that I am the UK’s foremost car finance expert.  Read more »

How Graham Hill’s Knowledge Is Used To Make Money

Monday, 23. May 2011

Let me tell you a story about an accountant who used to introduce clients to me about 12 years ago. He was a Chartered Accountant and according to the charter he couldn’t be paid a fee for arranging anything financial for his client. In other words if he had recommended a client to a financial advisor, who in turn arranged a pension or a Read more »

Graham Hill’s Famous Car Review Of New MG

Sunday, 22. May 2011

Time for a car review. As you know I normally remain pretty much unenthusiastic when it comes to some of the cars I write about, probably because the cars I notice are the daft cars, but having owned an MGB sports car at the age of 21, I still look at the badge with a degree of fondness as it invokes many happy memories – I said memories! So when I heard Read more »

Graham Hill Calls For Number Plates To Be Removed From Adverts

Saturday, 21. May 2011

Following on from my campaign to remove number plates from used car adverts online, something considered unnecessary by so called experts, the police reported that £500,000 of fuel was stolen from forecourts in the London area last year by cars fitted with false number plates. Maybe time for a re-think! Have you had your car number plate cloned and received a call from the old bill or a fine that isn’t yours? Let us know? By Graham Hill

How To Prevent Fuel Theft

Saturday, 21. May 2011

Something I’ve reported upon before is the increase in fuel theft but with the latest increase in cost at the pumps the number of thefts is increasing again. Farmers, heating oil and tankers have long been the targets of organised thieves but with an average family car holding around 60 litres of fuel this can represent about £80 (more if diesel) to regular Read more »
