Aston Martin Loses The Plot Totally

Oh dear! I reported a few weeks ago that Aston Martin were soon to launch a new city car, the Cygnet, based on the Toyota IQ. The likely price when it will actually go on sale later this year is £30,000 for those dopey enough to want to spend this ridiculous amount of money for what is really a Toyota IQ with a few extra bits on, including the famous, and all important, badge on the bonnet. If all this wasn’t ridiculous enough they are now taking a leaf out of the Smart car book and encouraging, yes I said encouraging, customers to select a daft colour or a full body wrap with examples such as full army fatigues, go faster stripes and even one that looks like a tiger skin wrap! Is it me or am I turning into my dad? I think I would be less embarrassed being introduced to guests at a Queen’s garden party with my fly accidentally open than driving around town in one of these disgusting little cars. Should have it as deal of the week in a couple of weeks! By Graham Hill
