Where To Avoid A Half Million Pound Speeding Fine
Friday, 27. August 2010
If you have a few quid in the bank and like to break speed limits you would be well advised to avoid Switzerland where a motorist, driving a Mercedes SLS- AMG has been landed with an eye watering fine of £538,000. Yep it’s true, he was finally clocked doing 186 mph on the A12. I say finally as most speed traps that he passed have a limit of 125 miles per hour. The 37 year old was doing more than twice the legal limit. The huge fine came about because in Switzerland they have a strange way of calculating fines based on the speed and the driver’s income – rather novel. And what was the reason for this very high speed? According to the police he said that the speedo was faulty! An easy mistake to make in my book, 186 must have felt like 80mph.
