Time To Cut Costs? Not According To Rolls Royce
Monday, 1. August 2011
Whilst most of us are looking at ways to save money on our motoring costs by dropping to a Smart car, searching the Interweb for the cheapest fuel in our county, even emptying the contents of the chip pan into the diesel tank in order to help the green revolution and save a couple of quid at the pumps, Rolls Royce are being a tad extravagant! Their very latest Phantom Drophead Coupe coming in at £400,000 can have a £71,000 option pack that includes a special Mazarine Blue paintjob, teak wooden bits, bespoke luggage and best of all an Asprey jewellery box for your cufflinks in the glove compartment.
There are even mother of pearl inlays in the wood veneer, can you believe it? But let’s say you wanted a posh car but didn’t want to be such a show off in a huge Rolls Royce? You could opt for a new Mini, set to rival the Aston Martin Cygnet, called the Goodwood priced at £41,000.
It will be finished in Rolls Royce splendour including RR leather with wood inlays and roof lining, doors and interior cladding all finished with RR Comsilk shade trim. The outside is finished in Diamond Black paint with 17” wheels. Other features include adaptive xenon headlights, park distance control, auto air con and sat nav.
If you want one of these little babies get your order in quickly as there are only 1,000 being made! I’m off to the chippy to top up the tank! What do you think of luxury car launches at this time? By Graham Hill
