Autoglass carried out a survey to see what distracted motorists most. Whilst not top of the list and it depends who and when the survey was carried out children in the car distracted a high number of drivers, in fact 36%. The Government is planning to apply a £15 surcharge to fixed penalties. Known as a victim’s surcharge it is currently applied to more serious offences such as criminal damage or domestic violence and can only be handed out by the courts.
