Noticed a bit more of a jam on the way into work in the morning or maybe a little more difficulty parking in the local car park at the weekend? Probably not as the UK car parc (the number of cars on our roads) has reduced a little over the past couple of years as we have been hit by recession but the reason I mention it is that the number of cars on the Read more »

For some time I’ve been discussing the merits (or otherwise) of electric cars. Are they fit for purpose or not? The problem is really twofold, firstly the very high cost, even allowing for the £5,000 per car subsidy from the Government, and secondly the range, which in most cars isn’t much more than 100 miles. I have commented previously on the excuses made by the manufacturers about the drop in car availability and the increased prices as a result of the Japanese tsunami. That ‘bigotgate’ moment Read more »

I don’t normally comment on new cars in these ramblings but I recently saw the new Nissan Cube and feel that it’s just a step too far! Have you seen it? What a load of old sh*t! as Catherine Tate playing the part of ‘nan’ would say! It has to be the dopiest car I’ve ever seen. It is actually offensive to look at, nearly as bad as driving past a field with your car full of kids who ask why a horse is trying to get on the back of Read more »

Whilst there are a few vague signs coming out of Germany, France and Japan that we may be moving out of the world recession we have no such signs in the UK and whilst people are still being made redundant and reducing work hours there are fears that the UK roads are becoming more dangerous as drivers avoid service and repair costs. One of the biggest dangers lies with Read more »
