Ford Leads The Way With In Mirror Gadgetry

Friday, 29. October 2010

Ford seems obsessed with their rear view mirrors. First (as I announced recently) they added an option to have a Sat Nav built into the mirror now they have the option of adding a rear camera with the screen in the mirror. Buyers of all models from the Edge to the Titanium will have the £475 option available that includes the camera, automatic headlamps and wipers, camera and rear parking sensors as well as the special rear view mirror. Good idea or potentially a distraction? What do you think? By Graham Hill

Graham Hill’s gadget of the week is unfortunately only available on Ford cars but I have to say it seems like quite a good idea. It’s called a MirrorNavi and is essentially a sat nav built into the mirror – more like an extension to the left of the mirror with a 3.5” colour touch screen. It has no visible wires and can be installed into your car in an hour for £299 + labour. It will help to reduce clutter, according to Ford and Read more

UK Car Prices A Rip Off Compared To US

Wednesday, 21. July 2010

I’ve already reported about the way that Ford increased its list prices during the scrappage scheme and, now the scheme has ended, has now decided to lower its list prices by up to 15%, quite a coincidence eh! But to make matters worse they say that even after reducing their prices that buyers should still negotiate the price further as dealers have the ability to provide additional discounts from 5% to 15%. But this is the Read more

Graham Hill Announces That UK Car Prices Are Still A Rip Off!

Thursday, 8. July 2010

What a bloody surprise! After hiking up their prices last year, no less than 4 times, which coincidentally coincided with the £1,000 manufacturer’s scrappage scheme contribution, Ford are now dropping their list prices by between 6% and 15% across their smaller cars from August, after all the pipeline scrappage orders have totally washed out of the system. No wonder the biggest benefactors were the Read more

Missing Your Car Service Could Put Lives At Risk

Monday, 24. May 2010

Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions have warned drivers to ensure that they don’t risk their lives and the lives of others by missing services on cars. In a study carried out by Ford it was shown that 15% of Britons miss out a service in order to save money during this recession whilst 18% don’t have breakdown cover. The biggest culprits are the 18-24 age group who miss services with over a third not having a breakdown Read more

The Not So Good News From Ford

Sunday, 16. May 2010

There have been a lot of hurrah’s and yippees as Ford have dropped their list prices by up to 12% on many models in their range. Obviously it passed everyone by that in fact they increased their prices by 15.1% last year when inflation was bouncing along at a little over 0%. In fact the actual increase imposed by Ford was higher than 15.1% as the increases took place in 4 chunks and I’ve disregarded the Read more

Another In Depth Car Review, This Week Bentley Mulsanne

Saturday, 15. May 2010

Yet another Graham Hill in depth review of a new car. Following the successful review of the new Ford Focus that many people found of great interest I have gone to the far end of the spectrum and this week chosen for my in depth review the new Bentley Mulsanne. Actually the review of the new Ford Focus was a little light on some of the fine detail so whilst the review of the Mulsanne was to be ‘It’s bloody expensive Read more

Is Petrol The New Diesel?

Friday, 7. May 2010

Has diesel had its day? For the first time in 10 years we saw a drop in diesel car sales compared to petrol sales. The proportion of diesels sold to petrol dropped to 41% compared to petrol, 58%. The proportion for the previous year was 43%, an all time high following 10 years of year on year increases. The move has been brought about by improved small petrol engine technology. Manufacturers have turned their Read more

I like to bring you hot news every week. You will recall my summary of the last budget. With notepad in hand I was watching Darling on TV but unfortunately I fell asleep leaving me nothing to report. However, this week I’m determined to make amends. I want to give you an insight into the latest developments and of course an in depth report on all the major features of the very latest models to be launched by the manufacturers. So in that informative vein I’m announcing the launch of the all new Ford Focus – it looks like an Astra! By Graham Hill

Graham Hill, Car Finance Expert, Asks Should Customers Ignore Less Mainstream Cars

Thursday, 8. April 2010

‘I don’t mind what it is, I’m after something that does the job but doesn’t cost a lot per month.’ Quite a common request that I receive and so I have a bit of a rummage around and find a Kia on a really good deal or maybe a Hyundai or a Chevrolet. Suddenly the customer has become a bit more of a snob than even he thought he was but are we right to dismiss some of these makes? Martin Ward of CAP test drives cars all Read more
