Good to see that Alphabet, the car leasing company, has spotted something in the new tax rules that are to come into force next April that I reported upon many weeks ago. When I first started driving I drove an Austin Nash-Metropolitan, a rather cool car with a bench seat, column gearchange, low slung windows that you could really lean out of and wait for it – a built in valve radio that could pick up the pirates a treat although it did take a trip of more than 20 minutes to warm up! Staying on these two misleading articles they also point to the dangers of taking finance on cars and the problems faced by those who want to get out of their current large or gas guzzling cars and into smaller more efficient cars but are unable to because of the negative equity position with the settlement costs being far in excess of the resale value of the car on finance, ie. negative equity.
