Silliest Remark Of The Week
Tuesday, 30. August 2011
The ‘silliest remark of the week’ came from NCP managing director Duncan Bowins. It came about when a driver arrived at a railway station in order to catch a train, he had driven into the NCP car park which was full so he had to park his car a little awkwardly. Whilst not causing an obstruction he was parked outside a bay which meant he received a ticket. After complaining he had the ticket overturned with an apology as NCP said this was a constant problem with too few spaces to meet demand.
However the MD had a word of advice in order to avoid the problem, get to the station in plenty of time! Excuse me? I think if a car park has 100 spaces and 101 drivers turn up to park in the car park, some poor bugger will be out of luck!
If you are driver number 101 and you turn up with an hour to spare you still won’t get a parking space or maybe he meant to add – then you have plenty of time to park the car in the next car park a mile away and walk back in time to catch your train! Now that would make sense! Or maybe get a push bike! By Graham Hill
