VW Passat CC

Talk about left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing! VW has had some great deals towards the end of this year. Demand was great but they hadn’t realised that when they promote a car they should make sure that they can meet demand – sounds a bit logical to me. But no, that would be far too simple and obvious so now we have some very unhappy customers who are still not being told when they can expect to receive their Passat CC’s or Touareg’s even though they were originally told November for delivery. The dealers can’t give any more information as the factory is telling them absolutely nothing, the whole situation is a farce. To make matters worse it would seem (allegedly) that some dealers are promoting Touaregs at the old rate but the cars have to be delivered by the end of March to qualify for the extra support that gives rise to the low rates. And yet the factory is quoting April/May for delivery for orders being taken now. What does this mean? Well when it comes to March clients with Touaregs will be told to stump up the increased rates, which, I’m told, amounts to about £100 + VAT per month. When Mr Customer cancels his order the dealer, who’s not allowed to order for stock at the moment, suddenly has a car coming into stock in a few weeks that he can now offer to retail customers at full retail price. No wonder they are (allegedly) misleading the customer. By Graham Hill
