New Car Deliveries Continue To Get Worse

VW Passat CC

I’ve heard today that VW have slipped back on deliveries even further on the new Passat CC’s, that we have on order. Deliveries of cars ordered as long ago as September have now slipped back to February/March next year. Touareg’s on order have also slipped back to March. Considering the fact that we were quoted deliveries for end of November this is a disgrace but even worse we still don’t have specific delivery dates. Typical of many manufacturers the marketing team decided to promote the car without checking availability with production. So whilst we were happily selling the damn things no one was actually building any! Duh! The trouble is that this type of miss-management affects everyone. Customer is very unhappy and could end up without a car, we have to deal with the customers and his anger as well as manage the effect on our cash flow whilst dealing with a lack of information being passed by the factory to the dealer. And it’s not getting easier so if you are even within 5 months of the end of your contract you should be considering ordering your car if you are to avoid disappointment. Have you had a badly delayed vehicle? By Graham Hill
