Is White The New Black For Cars?

Tuesday, 14. October 2008

Well having reported a few weeks ago that white cars have been making a comeback it would seem that used car buyers are not quite so keen according to Eutotax-Glass’s who report that some supercars and luxury grand tourers can lose as much as £5,000 compared to a popular metallic colour. Whereas some high performance and those fitted with sports kits do very well. To demonstrate the quirkiness of the market they pointed out that a white Audi A4 S-Line performs well in the used car market, whereas a white version of a standard A4 could be worth up to £1,000 less than a car with a desirable metallic paint finish. Cars that are performing well are: Audi S3, RS4 and R8, BMW 1 Series M Sport and M3, and Porsche 911, GT3, RS and Caymen. Several prestige brands, luxury saloons and SUV’s can be worth around £3,000 less than a desirable metallic equivalent, so choose your colour with care if you are going to buy your next car.
