Graham Hill Explains Why Car Finance Is Like Making A Cake

Wednesday, 6. July 2011

None of us particularly likes to deal with finance, except me of course but then I’m a bit nuts! But finance is like a critical ingredient in a delicious cake. Get it right, choose the right ingredient used in the correct way and magic happens. Get it wrong and all that time and effort and expense results in a total disaster. When customers come to me many haven’t heard of the many ways there are to finance a car. By showing them the options, discussing the possibilities and matching the products to their circumstances the magic happens and customers get to drive cars that they never dreamed they would.

But take the wrong advice and choose the wrong recipe and it could turn out to be a painful mistake. So great care is needed and as with the cake if you had a cake prepared by a master chef you would expect to have a perfect cake every time, but the cost would probably be prohibitive. However, this is where the difference lies.

I’m considered by many to be the the master chef of vehicle finance by being the UK’s leading authority on the subject backed up by my 30 or so years experience. I’m certainly the world’s number one car finance blogger, as of yesterday I was number 1 on Google for the expression car finance blog out of a jaw dropping 208 million.

In fact I held the top 3 positions. But most of what I do is free for my clients and I’m also independent. Take manufacturer finance from the dealer and you have to consider who’s side they will be on if you have a dispute.

They sure as hell won’t be on yours unless you have started paying their wages. So take care and use a top professional whenever you can for whatever it is you are doing. By Graham Hill
