Graham Hill, Car Finance Expert, Explains The – Buy A Pothole Scheme

Wednesday, 24. March 2010

I know I seem obsessed with potholes at the moment but they are such a pain and costing motorists a fortune. The Germans came up with a solution in the village of Niederzimmern near Leipzig. They sold their potholes for 50 Euros which the council filled with asphalt and a metal plaque which carries the owner’s name or a tribute to a loved one. Of course not wishing to miss an opportunity the Brits are planning something similar. Ashford council leader Paul Clokie is proposing the same idea for the potholes of Ashford in Kent. He estimates that there are 100,000 potholes in Ashford alone and is proposing that they sell them for £45, allowing the owners to have a plaque carrying their own name or maybe that of a dead pet. Well, if it gets rid of the potholes I’m all for it but a pothole dedicated to a loved one? Hmmmm! By Graham Hill
