Good News On Full Maintenance Leasing

Thursday, 6. October 2011

If you have had a lease quote from me recently you will probably have had a quote including maintenance, even though you may not have asked for it, especially for cars on low annual mileage. This is because a couple of the leasing companies have gone back to the days of trying to encourage drivers to have their cars serviced on time by making sure that the costs are covered. Last week’s deal of the week was the Seat Exeo which was quoted inclusive of maintenance because it was just a few pounds more expensive.

On 10,000 miles per annum you may have a couple of services and you may get through 4 tyres at about £140 a throw so an extra £5 per month looks like good value and takes away the impact of a sudden bill for service or maintenance.

So in future it may be worth getting quotes for with and without maintenance, even if you are on higher mileage, it may actually save you money and glitches in the cash flow.

Don’t forget that when we quote full maintenance this includes everything as opposed to some service packs that may only include the cost of services but not parts used such as brakes and brake discs and nearly always excludes the cost of replacing tyres.

What do you prefer, agreements that include full maintenance for a few pounds more or pay as you go and use garages that you know and trust? By Graham Hill
