Do You Know Enough About Social Media?

Friday, 14. October 2011

Been a busy week for me, last week I was attending, as a speaker, the F&I Conference and awards dinner. For the uninitiated F&I stands for Finance and Insurance offered by car dealers and brokers. It was a great event and even though I went over time with my presentation I believe it went down well. The most surprising thing for me was the lack of involvement by both dealers and brokers in the latest Social Media. It is a huge opportunity for networking and gaining leads for any business and gives you access to thousands if not millions of potential customers.

The big growth area at the moment for businesses is LinkedIn. Last time I checked my stats I am directly linked to 362 people, they are then linked to 55,100 and as they term 3 degrees away I’m linked to 3,843,800.

This means I’m able to contact through introduction 3,899,300. That is amazing and the same could be achieved by all of those at the meeting as well as you.

If you combine this with the opportunities provided by Twitter and Facebook you could heavily spin up your income. I am now considered somewhat of an expert in Social media, I learned much about LinkedIn from an American expert who has now produced a series of training videos and supporting manuals.
